One of my favorite things is checking out local lettering when I travel.

You see the same letters most of the time in the U.S. The computer has totally run over hand lettering and all of it's quirky, idiosyncratic glory. While I enjoy making typefaces, I also enjoy doing one-off lettering when a project calls for it.

Some examples follow of some neat stuff that i found while we were out and about:.

These fresh fruit and sundry stands are all over the place in Costa Rica. You can get a refreshing, refrigerated young coconut or "pipo" if you prefer 24 hours a day.
